Reconstructing thin structures is challenging and having good masks is crucial to get good results. Masquerades provides many options to get far, but having more options to combine selections based on colors would be great without the need to create workarounds.
Problem: Backgrounds from green screens or blue screens cannot be removed by selecting a single color. Most often the unregular illumination causes a higher range across saturation and value, while hue has small variation. AI is not yet a solution here - see the examples below.
Occurrence: Turntable setup captured against a green or blue screen. Especially if no backlight is possible.
Solution
Option 1: Make the threshold a vector in HSV color space, turning it effectively from a sphere to a blob in 3D space. Should remove 90%, instead of 40-50% in the sample below and super easy to implement.
Option 2: Combine multiple automatic selections - open feature request since 2021.
