Combine imported mesh and dense point cloud to create new mesh

    Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to merge an imported laser scan point cloud as .ply and the 3d zephyr dense point cloud and create a mesh?

    Thanks.

    Hi msy,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT0CK2Vcu_E - This should point you in the right direction! It's totally possible to merge third party scan data and photogrammetry scans within Zephyr (Pro/Aerial - not Free/Lite)

    Hope that video helps

      Hi cam3d,

So after I make the unstructured file, structured, it is also taking the point clouds from the dense point cloud? I thought I was only taking the colours from it.

      Thanks.

Once an object becomes unstructured, it means that it is "linked" to the camera information. This means that once a dense cloud becomes structured, it can be used like any other structured dense cloud regardless of their origin.

In your case, I assume you'll have

        - dense point cloud 1 generated by zephyr using images only

        - dense point cloud 2 imported by laser scan

It is up to you to know what you want to do - if you'd like you can merge the two togheter (select them (notice how selected objects are highlighted) -> right click -> merge ) or you can create two separate meshes.
