Georeferencing features are only available to the Aerial version. We did some tests, and the RTK is very useful in performing accurate georeferencing with fewer ground control points. On optimal cases, you might be able to reach centimeters georeferencing without the need of Ground Control Points. However, in general, while you certainly need fewer control points for accurate results, we advise using some ground control points (or at least one).

However, while the RTK will help the georeferencing process, please don't expect an improved quality of the 3D reconstruction itself. While the RTK can be also useful to avoid "drift" errors during the camera orientation, it won't likely dramatically improve the 3D reconstruction accuracy in general.

    Roberto,

So it will not work with the Lite or Pro versions?
Have you tried the RTK with 3DF Zephyr? or know of anyone who has?
I'm really curious how much better this works than using the standard DJI Phantom.

    Thanks,

    Hi David,

3DF Zephyr Aerial can take advantage of DJI RTK technology for georeferencing. In order to use those constraints, make sure to select "import camera positions" during the new project wizard. The camera position will be loaded automatically from the exif. On the constraints selection, make sure to select "RTK" (30 cm) as constraints accuracy.

    Best,
    Roberto

Without testing the data it's hard to gauge - is there a specific part of the technology you are referring to?
