Orthophoto quality not as good as other software

    Hello 3d flow Forum,

i've recently done a project using a sony camera ( Sony alpha 7r mark 4 61 megapixel). I was really excited to see the result of this project but when i processed the model in 3d flow ..the orthophoto quality was really poor (not sharp, partly blur and pixelated). ...
Before someone says about the photos quality...the photos are good quality. infact i was so disappointed that i processed the same dataset in Metashape which produced a wonderfully sharp orthophoto!! so the problem it's defenetely not my photos.
The processing reports (from both softwares) ..have calculated a 0.0022 m GSD on the models ...so i'm expecting a very good orthophoto actually ...please see below the difference in sharpness..

Can some help me understand how do i make my Zephyr ortho look like the one that Metashape has produced?

If the solution is to pre sharpen the images in photoshop then thats a route i dont want to go down as in this case it would cause longer and more costly processing times...in any case ..i didnt have to sharpen them in metashape..

I'm really hoping someone can give me an answer here or offer a solution to this very frustrating problem....

    Hi,

I advise against all kinds of pre-processing in photoshop, in general.

It's really impossible to give you feedback without looking at the project itself and without looking at the photos.

can you confirm you're on the latest version of 3DF Zephyr?

Feel free to reach out to support@3dflow.net if you can share the full dataset (zep and photos)

Hi Andrea, yes i'm on the latest version of Zephyr. Photos are good quality - shot with a 61 megapixel sensor- everything aligned - i processed everything in Ultra ...including the sparse cloud (downgrade factor 0) Ortho was processed at 1mm and 2mm/pixel resolution (given GSD was 2mm) ...despite i have put a lot of efforts and reprocessed this using all the settings available in the software ...still i couldnt present the ortho to the client !

Metashape though ..has got it right first time around and the ortho is perfect - with same dataset and almost same parameters!I dont necesserly want top retort using another software to create orthos--- very frustrating!

I would love to share with you the data but even the processing report seems to be too heavy for this platform! yes im sending the data set to zephyr support !

      Thanks
