About an issue - Something went wrong

    Hi,

    I use Pro Version.
    I have a bust on a turntable.
The camera is fixed on a wagon and can rotate around the turntable.
    I took 24 Pictures (RAW).
I masked the photos using Masquerade.
At time of reconstruction, I am told by the software that something went wrong.
    I can't explain it.

    Thanks for your help.

        Hi Nightingale,

thank you for sharing your dataset. Unfortunately, all your images are suffering from the same problem: you shot with a very high iso speed (1000) with a very shallow depth of field. The result is that your image is suffering from a lot of noise and the subject is not very well in focus. You can see it what i mean by zooming in your images

Click image for larger version Name: Views:	1 Size:	478.3 KB ID:	2518

If you used a non-uniform color subject, you may have extracted something even with this camera settings, but i strongly suggest you change your camera settings anyways so that you can get a cleaner image for all your subjects:

        - try shooting with ISO-100 or ISO-200
        - if possible, try an higher depth of field (i.e. f/11)

this way you'll also have to make sure that you camera is stable when shooting, as you will most likely have to increase the exposure time (unlike the 1/10 of a second as you did, try 1s or something similar so that enough light can enter the camera).

          Thank you Andrea,

The scene takes place in a photobooth I built.
The lighting is made of LEDs that you can dim through Wifi.
For a lighting of 50% here is the result for the 3 first shots with the new settings.

          What do you think ?

It's less noisy, but a bit too dark now. Try a longer exposure time until the image is clear and sharp! If possible avoid direct lights and make them more diffused so that you avoid highlights.

I can also give more light (LEDS = 70%) ?

Or maybe add light in Photoshop ?

I have another question : do I need to sharpen the photos with Photoshop ?

You should figure out your own lighting setup. The thing is you need good, sharp focus, with diffused lighting. Please also refer to this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E06k...ature=youtu.be

Adjusting photos in photoshop is usually a bad idea. If you do, make sure to never crop , rotate or undistort your images.

                      Hi again,

I have to add some LEDs below the bust.
In the mean time, I exported the model (part of the face) to Maya as OBJ file.
I do not understand why I don't get the same model. In Maya. It seems I lost some resolution.
                      Please see attached file.

                      Thanks.

                        Hi Nightingale,

you are looking at the model in Zephyr with lights turned off. Click the lightbulb icon in order to enable lighting in Zephyr.

                          Hi Andrea,

I think there is a misunderstanding.
I was speaking about the imported mesh in Maya.
As you can see on the screenshot (left) we have less details in front of the mesh in Zephyr (right). For example on the hair region.

                          I do not understand why.

                          Thank you.

                            Hi nightingale,

it looks like you have less detail simply because you are not looking at the reconstructed mesh with lights on in zephyr. Click on the lightbulb to see it, and eventually disable colors.
