From scanning to 3D printing - two questions

    1. When I do the scanning, I get the top surface of the object with a big hole in the bottom and possibly with another hole in the top. Hence what I get is a shell of the object. Can I send this directly to 3D printing without filling the holes? Will they be able to fill holes and give me back a solid object?

    2. How do I scale the stl file so that it is close to the real size? How do I do the scaling?

    Thanks.

    Hi Victor,

    1. it depends on the hole and slicer software you use, but generally speaking you want to close all holes.

    2. scaling should be done with control points for better accuracy (Pro/Aerial). However you can also roughly scale the object with Free and Lite: https://www.3dscanninghacks.com/wiki..._Free_And_Lite
