New User - Masquerade crash using tutorial data

I am a newbie so please be gentle. I am trying to learn masks and I have fired up Masquerade and loaded the supplied tutorial images of the Cherub. I let Automatic computation do its thing (enter) do its thing and then want to try converting to mask to brush strokes and the program crashes at this point ALWAYS. I first found the error on my own images. So tried the tutorial images

I have no idea what data you need to diagnose this issue. Im not even sure this is the right place for support.

    Hi and welcome!

All questions are always welcome so don't worry and don't hold back - everyone was a beginner at first.

Can you please describe more in detail the steps you take to make it crash? I'm unable to replicate your problem. Please also confirm which version of 3DF Zephyr you're using - are you on 8.005?

If I understand correctly you're using the automagic - is this the issue? Which model are you using (General 0.9 I assume?)? Or do you mean any other automatic features (strokes? color?).

Please describe step by step your procedure, feel free to a attach screenshots to explain your workflow, thank you!

So I also loaded Zephr onto a Vanilla VM machine and this function works OK. But I then dont have access to my NVIDEA GPU so not a solution. So this is something to do with my setup and some sort of conflict but no idea how to find out what.

Run msconfig disabled all non Microsoft Services and still fails

Dont know if it helps but I running a NVIDEA RTX 4080 Super Graphics card

Found the crash in the Event Log :

        Hi

        thank you for the video!

I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Since it crashes inside Qt, I'm afraid there is some kind of third party application that is interefering with Qt. In the past we've seen this with dell's backup & recovery for example. Try closing other applications that are running in the background especially "invasive" ones.

Try updating your drivers (though it's very unlikely that's the cause) as well. Reboot your machine just in case you haven't done so before tyring again.

Does this happen with *any* image? I assume so.

        Please let me know!

I will do some more investigation, and this is a Dell Computer. But as I said I switched off services and it still failed. Ill try with clean boot but thats as far as I will be able to go. Andreas are you from 3DZephr ?
