Tomorrow we will release a new beta version, so make sure to subscribe to our mailing list if you own a Zephyr Pro license: this way you’ll be able to try out firsthand the new features that are planned for the 1.500 release.

We are also announcing 3DF Zephyr Lite: a new licensing option targeted to those who wants to harness the power of our reconstruction engine targeted to artists, small businesses and those who – in general – just want to get their hands only on a 3D mesh. 3DF Zephr Lite will have some limitations (such as no ortophoto generation, no point cloud exporting, and such) and will cost only 199€ + vat. More to come on this in the next few days!

In the meantime, here is the promised sneek peek of the upcoming 1.500 version features:

  • Core improvements: both the structure from motion and the multiview stereo phases have been substantially improved for better accuracy and faster computation.
  • Texture tool: generated textures are now manageable in the workspace
  • FBX support: it is now possible to export in the .fbx format (you can also export cameras in the fbx as well!)
  • New “Body” preset: scanning a human body or a closeup? No need to fiddle with the “advanced settings” for that – just pick the “body” preset and let Zephyr do the work!
  • Upload to YouTube: share your reconstruction video on YouTube in a few clicks!

As usual, tons of UI adjustments and bugfixes are included with this update! Stay tuned for more news!
